Single Skillet Pasta
One-pot pasta with bacon, tomato sauce, and cream.
Ingredients
- 1 strip bacon, diced
- 1 small yellow onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, diced
- 2 cups broth (any kind)
- Salt, to taste
- 3/4 cup tomato sauce (any kind)
- Pasta, any kind
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 tsp butter
- 1 tsp oregano
- 1 tsp thyme
- 1/2 tsp saffron (optional)
- 2 tsp paprika powder (smoked is OK)
Instructions
Cook the bacon - In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the bacon until crispy. Remove bacon and leave the fat in the pan.
Sauté aromatics - Sauté the garlic and onion until soft and fragrant. Add the dry pasta and stir to coat and lightly toast.
Cook pasta - Add the broth, spices, and bacon. Cook pasta for 6-8 minutes.
Add butter and salt - Stir in butter and salt. Simmer for another minute.
Finish - Add heavy cream and tomato sauce. Stir and simmer another 5 minutes. Done.
Tips
- Adjust the amount of pasta based on how much liquid you have.
- Add more broth if the pasta is too dry.
- Top with Parmesan cheese before serving.
