Lavender Syrup
Fragrant lavender syrup perfect for teas, coffees, cocktails or baked goods.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups water
- 1 cup sugar (ratio, boil to simple syrup)
- 2 tablespoons lavender (dried flowers)
- 1/2 lime juice, after straining and reheating
Instructions
Make simple syrup - Combine water and sugar in a saucepan. Bring to a boil until sugar dissolves.
Add lavender - Add lavender flowers and let steep for 5-10 minutes.
Strain - Strain out the lavender flowers.
Add lime juice - Reheat the syrup and add lime juice. Stir well.
Tips
- Use culinary lavender, not decorative lavender.
- Don’t steep too long or hot, it will become bitter.
- Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
- Great for cocktails, lemonade, or in royal icing.
